A Beautiful Artist Studio

_bothDesksI was so lucky to meet a fellow Mom last year and we worked together as class Mom’s in our sons’ classroom. Vicky is an artist and designer. She designs many things, but her main gig is designing greeting cards. Her and I instantly connected and I have so much respect for her, personally and professionally. My two girls love sharing a room together. I wanted to make it special for both of them, and a place they would be excited about sleeping in. Their bedroom is a perfect mix of preppy patterns and girly print. There are lots of DIY details like custom monogrammed pillows, matching headboards and bedskirts, painted lamps and lampshades, and much more!

Staircase Banister Makeover

Inspiration at the Coast

Inspiration at the Coast

I’m lucky enough to have an awesome husband who talked me into getting a small summer rental at the coast, in Southport, NC. I hope to post about this little town a lot over the coming weeks. For today, I want to share some images that have inspired some ideas for projects.

You know the old saying, “If you want something done right, do it yourself”?  I find the easiest way to get exactly what I want is to make it myself. That was the case when searching for a chandelier for my dining room. I wanted something rustic but glamorous, but couldn’t find it for the right price.

Dark blue powder room

Navy blue walls can be intimidating to some when you are considering a small room because dark colors can make a small room feel even smaller. A simple solution is adding a gallery wall with art surrounded by large white mattes. Using various sized frames and art can help move the eye around by giving more visual interest.
